Who we are
A membership organisation
North Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is a membership organisation made up of all 21 GP practices in the area, led by clinical specialists and experienced health managers.
Together, we’re responsible for planning and buying the majority of health care services for about 205,000 residents.
You can find out how the CCG fits into the NHS structure, and more about how the health system works, by reading this guide:

The geographical area North Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) covers.
Because we’re run by family doctors and health specialists, we have a very good understanding of what patients need.
But we work closely with local communities, patients, North Somerset Council, service providers (such as hospital trusts) and a range of local and national organisations to agree priorities.
Our aim is to make the best use of the money available, and make certain that the people of North Somerset get the health services they need.
We also want to reduce inequalities, establish easier access to services for patients, and improve integration between health and social care.
This way, we can help everyone in North Somerset to lead a healthier, happier life, and to recover from any illness or injury as quickly and fully as possible.
Underpinning all of our work is a commitment to equality, diversity and human rights.
